Role: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Plano, TX (Remote)
Type: Contract
Position Description:
- Seeking a Senior Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Databricks, Azure data services, Python/PySpark and SQL.
- The role will be responsible for designing, building and optimizing scalable enterprise data solutions, including data ingestion, transformation, integration and lakehouse pipelines.
- Requires a strong hands-on engineer who can work independently, collaborate with architects and business teams, and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years Senior-level experience in data engineering and enterprise data platforms.
- 8+ years Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, Apache Spark/PySpark, Python and SQL.
- Strong knowledge of Delta Lake, Unity Catalog and Databricks Workflows.
- 8+ years Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Data Factory and related Azure data services.
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data modeling, data integration and data quality concepts.
- 10+ years Experience working with high-volume enterprise datasets and performance tuning/optimization.
- Knowledge of data security, governance, RBAC, encryption and data lineage.
- 10+ years Experience with Git, Azure DevOps/GitHub and CI/CD practices for data engineering.
- AWS data engineering experience, including services such as S3, Glue, Lambda or Redshift, is a plus.
- Strong communication, problem-solving and documentation skills, with the ability to operate independently with minimal guidance.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent real-world experience
