Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit managing diagnoses including chest pain, CAD, arrhythmias, CHF, COPD exacerbation, MI, renal failure, PE, GI bleed, and related conditions
• Perform and manage telemetry monitoring, interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Heparin) and perform sheath pulling at bedside
• Provide pre- and post-procedural care for cardiac catheterization, angiogram, MI, PPM/AICD, ablations, and vascular surgeries
• Manage specialized equipment including chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, wound vacs, and telemetry monitoring devices
• May be assigned to an emergency response team during declared emergency events, with expectations to remain at or return to the facility as directed by unit management

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license — Compact or Louisiana license must be in hand at time of submittal
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry specialty
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management, central/peripheral/PICC line care, blood product administration, port accessing, IV insertion, wound care, and isolation precautions
• NURSYS report must be submitted with profile and current within 4 weeks of submission date
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility (as reflected on driver's license) to be eligible — local travelers are not accepted
• Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with CABG post-operative care
• Familiarity with vascular surgery care including CEAs and fem-pop procedures
• Comfort with potential reassignment to other inpatient units as needed based on census
