Serve as an example for other employees in the department. Lead department with safety, quality, delivery, and cost in mind./ppEssential duties and responsibilities include:/pulliMaintain knowledge of all jobs within the department./liliServes as a student and champion of Toyota Production System (TPS) and Total Predictive Maintenance (TPM)./liliCoordinate the training for new team members in order for them to be trained effectively; develop plan for cross-training team to ensure area and process coverage./liliActs as the first point of contact for department team members, providing support and communication for the team./liliFacilitate department start of shift meeting, SQDC message and expectations./liliPlan department work assignments and assign daily tasks. Establishing priorities and sequences to promote 100% on-time delivery of customers. Take necessary action to assure that each process sends only 100% conforming product/parts to the next process to promote TPS and minimum inventories./liliProvide improvements to work instructions and procedures./liliDetermine the root cause(s) and countermeasures for product nonconformances, machine/tool, process problems, abnormal conditions and for all other matters/occurrences that will benefit from Kaizen activities/continual improvement./liliManagement of the floor management system to include developing, communicating and posting results./liliHazMat training and compliance (for applicable areas)./liliSupport of developing and executing the areas function action plan./liliShift transition with on-coming/off-going area leader./liliStep in to production assignments as needed to provide relief for absence or emergency./liliManage abnormal conditions by communicating, analyzing and resolving issues./liliLead area 4S+ and enforce compliance to established standards./liliResponsible for safety communication, reporting, and enforcement of team compliance to include but not limited to, accident investigation and countermeasures, protective equipment, protection on the job, OSHA requirements, and emergency action plans./liliQuality facilitation by auditing and assuring that work instructions are complete and accurate and standard work is being followed./liliManage the performance of their area and team members with prompt communication to the section manager./liliComplete non-routine projects or assignments, i.e., participation in Kaizen events and help to lead improvement processes./liliAct as an interim leader in cases of a section managers short-term absence./liliParticipates in hiring new team members and is part of the decision-making process./liliComplete other assignments as deemed necessary by IAF leadership./li/ulpEducation and training:/pulliHigh school diploma or GED. Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school a plus./liliThree-year related experience and/or training (5 to 7 years of experience preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience./li/ulpMinimum qualifications:/pulliAbility to perform basic troubleshooting activities with minimal direction after training./liliRecognize bottlenecks and adjust plan/manpower as necessary./liliRead and understand Kanban and match Kanban to part./liliUse calipers for measuring parts./liliTo use hand tools, understand and perform required techniques./liliIdentify problems and come up with appropriate solutions./liliRead and interpret technical drawing, quality specifications and engineering specifications./liliBe familiar with the use of industrial equipment and mechanical tools./liliRead the production schedule./liliWork in a Windows computer environment with proficiency in excel./liliLook up work instructions or reference documents./liliTake initiative./liliExtend shift by 30 minutes on each end./li/ulpMust be:/pulliSafety aware./liliQuality focused./liliCollaborative, inspiring teamwork./liliAdaptable to learn and perform and be willing to do various duties./liliOriented to continuous improvement; make suggestions and improve processes and quality./liliHighly organized./liliSelf-motivated./li/ulpPhysical demands:/pulliConstant standing, walking, bending, and lifting./liliOccasional kneeling, climbing and reaching./liliLifting up to 40lbs./li/ulpWork environment:/pulliManufacturing (potential exposure to hazardous chemicals)./liliLighting: Adequate./liliVentilation: Adequate./liliTemperature: Not-temperature controlled./li/ulpPreferred: Bachelors or better./ppEqual opportunity employer.
