Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established safety and procedural standards.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
• Verify patient demographic information and label specimens in the presence of the patient to ensure correct identification.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of collected samples and related activities.
• Explain procedures to patients to foster a comfortable and trustworthy environment.
• Perform specimen collection and processing duties, adhering to policy and procedural guidelines.
• Maintain a safe, professional environment and promote a positive image to patients and staff.
• Work independently and efficiently in high-volume, fast-paced settings.
• Travel to various locations as needed, including patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy sites.

Required Skills

• Proven ability to perform error-free blood collections in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license, if applicable.
• Data entry experience and proficiency with keyboard use.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is highly desirable.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call hours, and overtime based on staffing needs.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
