Senior Construction Engineer

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Part-Time Senior Construction Engineer for our Cincinnati, Ohio office. Be involved in projects with our CM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges Your Impact Monitor project progress against schedule and budget Identify and manage potential risks Review contractor submittals, change orders and recommend approvals Oversee quality control and safety compliance Reviews project activities with client and contractor’s field supervision resolving disputes and other daily issues Reviews daily inspection reports and other project documentation Facilitate communication between the owner, design team, and contractors Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings Analyze project data to identify cost-saving opportunities Provide recommendations for project adjustments as needed Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs #LI-TD1 Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience Experience leading projects and inspectors Experience with utility construction, building construction and/or basic mechanical equipment A demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents Deep understanding of construction practices, building codes, and project delivery methods Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders Proven experience in construction management, preferably with a focus on owner representation Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies Preferred Qualifications Experience working as an Resident Engineer on underground utility replacement and building construction Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred About WSP WSP USA is the U.S. operating company of WSP, one of the world's leading engineering and professional services firms.
