Our team provides technical skills, technologies, and processes to affordably develop, design, produce and sustain products across the defense industry while providing a decisive advantage to our customers.As the Embedded Software Engineering Manager 2, you are responsible for overseeing and coordinating the people, resources and processes required to deliver software solutions. Additionally, you are responsible for managing people performance, providing excellent staff resources to programs, and career development of employees. Roles & Responsibilities:Provide technical oversight of design, development, and integration of software componentsEngage with business leaders and customers to understand and drive business executionSupport the team in identifying and addressing impediments to the attainment of goals, including taking action to remove impediments where appropriateDrive sustainable continuous improvement, including by collating and deriving insights from dataGenerate proposal and estimates inputs for new workLead the team in applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools using Agile development methodologyGuide the team in compliance with the Internal Software Development Plan (iSDP) and the Agile Development Plan (ADP)Coordinate with other disciplines when needed such as Systems and HardwareCandidates must have strong communication and people leadership skillsSet, track, and measure employee performance expectationsGuide employees regarding career developmentProvide technical and business coaching and mentoringCommunicate direction from the higher-level organization and uphold principles of the higher organizationBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science,Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields) with 8 years of related experience, OR Master’s degree with 6 years of related experience, OR Ph.D. with 4 years of related experienceU.S Citizenship requiredMust have a current/active DoD Secret clearance. Secret clearance is required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.The ability to obtain a Special Program Access (SAP) prior to start. Must be able to maintain this level of access for continued employment.4 years of experience as a Software Engineering/Development Team Leader3 years identifying risks, suggesting mitigation, tracking defects, developing resolutions, and reporting status.Experience with software Integration and TestPreferred QualificationsPrior experience within an IPT lead role.Prior CAM (Cost Account Management) experience.Working knowledge of Linux or VxWorks operating systemsBoard support software experienceManagement of budget for technical activitiesExperience with software Integration and TestExperience generating proposals and estimates inputs for new workPrior software functional management experience (executing performance appraisals, staffing allocations, software process leadership, and career goals development)Primary Level Salary Range: $153,800.00 - $230,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
