Associate Controller

The Associate Controller will play a critical leadership role in managing the company’s accounting operations, with primary responsibility for overseeing the monthly close and financial reporting processes. This position is designed as a succession role to the Controller and will partner closely with executive leadership to ensure accurate, timely, and insightful financial information. Key Responsibilities Manage and develop accounting staff, fostering a high-performance and accountable team culture. Lead and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Prepare and review internal financial statements, management reporting packages, and variance analyses. Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis. Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies. Coordinate with external auditors and support annual audit and tax processes. Partner with FP&A and operational teams to provide actionable financial insights and support decision-making. Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability. Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with financial reporting. Support strategic initiatives, including M&A integration, system implementations, and growth planning. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred. 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or private industry. Proven experience leading or heavily participating in month-end close and reporting cycles. Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems required. Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other business intelligence tools preferred. Demonstrated leadership ability with experience managing and developing teams. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment.
