Plant Supervisor

What You’ll Do Promote safety by taking an active role in ensuring all assigned plants have zero accidents and are in total compliance with all Vulcan policies and procedures. Organize and plan production by scheduling the daily operation of plant production to ensure optimal utilization of plant and equipment, personnel and inventory requirements. Manage employee relations by providing strong leadership, training, team building and supervision to all employees at the plant, working cross‑functionally with HR on recruiting, merit increases, disciplinary actions and performance evaluation. Monitor processes and materials by analyzing production and quality control to ensure a quality product is received by customers, and implementing preventive maintenance to limit work stoppages and downtime. Maintain compliance by building a strong safety culture and managing the health and safety of employees in accordance with Vulcan’s policies and procedures. Inspect equipment and perform repairs by assisting and organizing the work of employees in the daily inspection and maintenance of the plant. Responsibilities Ensure all tasks are performed with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency and compliance. Develop and maintain production schedules, plant layouts and pit development plans. Provide leadership and performance management for direct and indirect reports. Analyze operational reports and implement best practices for extraction, processing and handling. Implement preventive maintenance programs and oversee equipment repair activities. Maintain accurate records for safety, quality and environmental compliance. Qualifications Previous experience supervising production employees, preferably at an aggregate, sand/gravel or asphalt plant. Strong leadership and mentorship skills to motivate and develop employees. Operational knowledge of rock and sand mining, ready‑mix concrete and/or asphalt operations, MSHA regulations, engineering principles and quality control systems. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with internal and external audiences. Financial acumen to manage performance against established targets. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noise. Benefits Health, dental and vision programs.
