Oncology RN

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Travel Oncology RN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you’ll deliver specialized oncology care, administer chemotherapy, monitor patient responses, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across various U.S. facilities. You’ll educate patients and families, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold the highest clinical standards. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients, including comprehensive assessments, care planning, and evaluation throughout each shift. Safely administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and supportive medications in accordance with established oncology protocols and facility policies. Monitor patients for treatment response, adverse reactions, and oncologic emergencies, intervening promptly and escalating concerns to the provider team. Manage central venous access devices, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ports, PICC lines, and tunneled catheters. Coordinate care with oncologists, hospitalists, pharmacists, social workers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, side effects, symptom management, and discharge instructions, promoting understanding and adherence. Document all assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses accurately and timely in the facility’s EMR system. Advocate for patient comfort and dignity by implementing evidence-based pain and symptom management strategies for patients at various stages of their cancer journey. Adhere to all infection control, safety, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a clean and safe environment for immunocompromised patients. Adapt quickly to new hospital settings, policies, workflows, and technologies at each travel assignment location. Collaborate with Fusion Medical Staffing and facility leadership to ensure smooth onboarding, schedule adherence, and clear communication throughout the assignment. Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and teamwork, contributing to a positive and supportive unit culture at each facility.
