Shift Leader

Position Overview The Shift Leader is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the store in partnership with the General Manager or the Assistant General Manager. The Shift Leader ensures the team has a clear understanding of goals, expectations, product knowledge, cleanliness, new directives and guest connections during the shift. Core Responsibilities Demonstrates mastery of the DOING of Team Member with ease, enthusiasm and excellence Leads shifts that focus on team engagement and guest satisfaction with an unwavering commitment to Make Fun Happen Think strategically about maximizing product sales and waste management Demonstrate "total store vision" to take ownership of the look and feel of the store Know the deployment for the day and the roles and responsibilities associated Consistently leverage effective communication on the floor during the shift See the needs of the team and guests and address situations before they become problematic Understand the multiple priorities of the shift and effectively communicate and delegate objectives and tasks Takes ownership not only for the current shift but also for the shift that follows Ensure the team is executing SOP and quality standards correctly and consistently Actively coach and give feedback to Team Members to ensure they bring their best DOING and BEING to their role Train team on role responsibilities, product knowledge and promotional items Perform administrative tasks with integrity and to completion, including bank deposits, inventory, store product orders and others as assigned Actively develop Team Members and discuss career and professional growth opportunities Bring the Core Values to life: Support One Another, Make Fun Happen, Be Yourself, Take Ownership, Serve With Love Takes ownership for their impact on others and actively manages how they show up Demonstrate confidence and own the decision‑making responsibility of being Manager on Duty Remain resilient under pressure and bring a calm presence in critical moments Bring joyfulness to leading the team, serving guests and being a community member Seek to be of service and create success for others Bring enthusiasm and curiosity to the responsibility of being a subject‑matter expert and help others grow Demonstrate humility and curiosity needed to lead a diverse group of people and show an eagerness to grow and learn Give powerful feedback and look to make the biggest difference by coaching the team from commitment, not compliance Takes ownership to make a positive impact on others Seek to create an inclusive and inspiring culture on every shift with every team member Take full ownership of their own development and actively seek feedback and growth opportunities Skills and Qualifications Required: At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail or customer service experience; or properly trained and approved by Caribou Coffee to take responsibility as a Shift Leader Ability to work at least one of the following: early mornings, evenings, some holidays and/or weekends Must be at least 18 years of age Preferred: High school diploma or GED equivalent A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Physical Requirements The position requires hearing, speaking, seeing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and the ability to stand for 4 to 8 hours. Physical demands may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations. Compensation Compensation Range: $12.75 – $21.25 per hour Starting pay is subject to Local and State Minimum Wage regulations.
