Veterinary Extern - General Practice

Externship Overview An externship experience at an NVA hospital will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day‑to‑day operations of the practice and to gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. All NVA hospitals share a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and exceptional care for animals and their owners. Responsibilities Gather patient histories Perform physical exams Create treatment plans Conduct diagnostics Provide dentistry services Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures Medical management of patients Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients Program Details Externship duration ranges from two to eight weeks depending on schedule, and is available for students in their clinical year at the Airline Animal Health and Surgery Center.
