IT Consulting Project Manager

We're looking for flexible, experienced project managers who can function as senior-level PMs and lead medium to large, complex projects. As a Consulting Project Manager, you will be a key partner in delivering large-scale transformation and technology programs, working alongside client IT teams, system integrators, and technology vendors.  

  You will play a crucial role in tracking project timelines, managing budgets, monitoring scope, and keeping detailed records of risks, issues, and decisions. Your ability to consolidate status reports across multiple workstreams, capture critical meeting notes, and ensure action items are executed will keep the project on track and aligned with business objectives.

  Key Responsibilities:

• Lead workplan development and consolidate status across multiple project workstreams.
• Attend project meetings to capture meeting notes, action items, decisions, and next steps.
• Maintain program documentation, including timelines, budgets, scope, change control, risks, issues, and decisions.
• Regularly report on program progress and provide insights for informed decision-making.
• Coordinate technical workstreams across the delivery lifecycle (requirements, design, build, testing, UAT, deployment), tracking dependencies and readiness at each stage.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives) and manage hybrid Agile/Waterfall plans where needed.
• Partner with client IT, security, and architecture teams, as well as third-party vendors and system integrators, to manage integrations, environments, data migration, and release and cutover planning.
• Track technical risks, defects, and change requests, and escalate blockers with clear options and impacts.
• Utilize tools such as Excel, MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, ServiceNow, SharePoint, Teams, and PowerPoint to manage and present program data.

The ideal candidate is someone with consulting and large cross-functional IT program experience (such as CRM, contact center, data, or cloud platform implementations) who thrives in a fast-paced, flexible, and collaborative environment. They are highly organized, have exceptional attention to detail, and are comfortable juggling multiple priorities. They are comfortable and confident with executive level communication skills and they're adept at collaborating with both internal teams and client stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

• Able to facilitate alignment across diverse stakeholders, uncover root issues, and help clients move forward with confidence when timelines are tight and information is incomplete.
• Understands when to apply structure and when to flex. Can build plans, manage budgets, and track deliverables, while also navigating the strategic “gray areas” typical of transformation programs.
• Combines analytical thinking with innovative approaches to remove obstacles, uncover risks, and design practical solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
• Builds trust quickly, listens deeply, anticipates client needs, and proactively looks for ways to add value beyond the immediate scope.
• Skilled at influencing without ego. Communicates clearly, synthesizes complex ideas simply, and creates an environment where cross-functional teams feel supported and heard.
• Understands how to balance competing priorities, manage scope, and drive accountability across multiple workstreams and vendors.
• Actively pursues learning, seeks feedback, stays curious, and takes ownership of expanding skills that benefit both clients and the firm.
• Able to coordinate across product, IT, engineering, security, operations, finance, and leadership teams to keep programs moving and aligned.
• Technically fluent: understands the software development lifecycle, system integrations (APIs, middleware), data migration, cloud environments, and security and compliance considerations well enough to ask the right questions and translate between business and technical teams.
• Hands-on experience running Scrum teams (sprint planning, backlog management, and removing blockers), plus the judgment to adapt to hybrid approaches when a client needs it.
• Prior Project Manager experience leading medium to large, complex projects (required).
• Experience delivering IT development, business process, or CX technology projects (for example, CRM, contact center, or customer data platforms).

Location:

• Candidates based in Michigan are strongly preferred, though this is not a strict requirement for applying.
