CMM Programmer Carson, California Job Ref: 41316 The company measures and creates parts. CMM stands for Coordinate Measurement Machine. They want someone with Hexagon equipment experience, as that is the machine they have and they have no time to train a new operator. The candidate must have experience using PC‑DMIS and be able to program from drawings and blueprints. They work with metals – aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, and titanium – so the programmer must be familiar with those materials. They do not want someone who only has experience with plastics or other materials. They work with small to medium size parts (2.5–20 inches). MUST have aerospace experience. They want someone with at least 7 years of CMM programming experience and 2–3 years of that within Hexagon equipment. Work hours may start at 6 am or 7 am; a 6 am start results in a 6 am–2:30 pm shift with a half‑hour lunch. They’re an ITAR facility, so the candidate must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; U.S. citizenship is preferred. A background check and drug screen will be performed. Their customers sometimes conduct site inspections, and some are military, so the individual should maintain a normal professional appearance. Responsibilities The CMM Programmer is the subject‑matter expert for dimensional metrology, responsible for developing advanced PC‑DMIS inspection programs for high‑precision, complex parts. The role includes creating, debugging, and optimizing advanced online and offline PC‑DMIS routines using CAD models and Model‑Based Definition (MBD). You will execute and validate complex AS9102 First Article inspections using Net‑Inspect, train other inspectors and CNC programmers on program use, and assist in creating AS9102 1st Article Inspection reports. Required Qualifications Minimum of 7+ years of dedicated CMM programming experience specifically in the aerospace and defense industry. Advanced, expert-level proficiency in PC‑DMIS. Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 & Y14.1 GD&T. Flawless mastery of complex aerospace engineering drawings, specifications, and digital product definitions. Proven experience inspecting diverse aerospace materials, including titanium, Inconel, and aluminum. In‑depth knowledge of Net‑Inspect. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.
