Summary of Position Instructors are responsible for providing quality academic curriculum, instruction, assessment, and for ensuring a productive and challenging learning experience is delivered to prepare students for the workplace and/or a pathway to further education. This position works to promote social justice within the division and the larger academic institution. Clinical instruction will be primarily in the face‑to‑face clinical format. Instruction – Supporting Actions: Deliver courses in multiple modes of delivery including modern classroom (F2F), online or hybrid/blended, and on‑site training for external customers where applicable. Develop and deliver instructional design activities. Address and refer student concerns. Guide and support students on a one‑to‑one basis outside the classroom as well as in the classroom setting. Assist students in developing critical thinking skills to understand and apply concepts of the subject matter to vocational, ethical, social, and personal practices. Classroom Management – Supporting Actions: Monitor student progress and conduct student evaluation. Provide input and/or maintain division accreditation and student records. Integrate the college SuccessAbilities as well as the program outcomes and course competencies. Program Development and Academic Leadership – Supporting Actions: Responsible for instructional learning activities. Provide academic referrals as appropriate. Organize, develop, and deliver outcomes‑based curriculum and assess student learning. Complete all required College training and be responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department. Student success is the cornerstone of Western's culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success. Minimum Education Qualifications Master's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education OR Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with enrollment in Master's in Nursing Program or Doctorate program and making continuous progress toward completion Minimum Experience Qualifications Two years (4000 hrs) occupational experience with one year (2000 hrs) within the last 5 years Preferred Qualifications Teaching Experience Required Certification/Licenses Hold a current, active registered nurse license or privilege to practice in Wisconsin that is not encumbered. Caregiver background check results acceptable to clinical sites. Eligible for or meets WTCS Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements. Individual program certification may be required and must be maintained. This position reports to: Associate Dean Health & Public Safety. Salary: $50/hour. Applicant review will begin: May 21, 2026.
