Air Reserve Technician

The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) to exercise technical and administrative supervision over subordinate workers in accomplishing trades and labor inspection work in the Quality Assurance Flight. Trains reservist in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of aircraft repair, modification, and inspection.
• Knowledge of personnel management policies, practices, and procedures, including sexual harassment and EEO/EET.
• Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.
• Knowledge in using and maintaining a variety of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and/or test equipment.
• Knowledge in troubleshooting, inspecting, and/or tracing hard-to-locate defects or problems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and technical specifications. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Other significant facts:

• This is an ART position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies. The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. May be required to fly in commercial and military aircraft to perform temporary / permanent duty assignments.
• The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle, such as a tug, light truck, or passenger vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license may be required for the position.
• Work is performed both inside and outside where employee may be exposed to all types of weather conditions. There may be danger of falls from wings, fuselages, and work stands.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement.
