Head of Production

Scatter Brothers Productions is a dynamic production company focused on developing and delivering high-quality film, television, commercial, digital, and creative media projects. We are looking for an experienced and highly organized Head of Production to lead the production process from development and pre-production through principal photography, post-production, and final delivery.
The Role

The Head of Production will oversee the company’s production operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, creatively aligned, and to the highest professional standards .
This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced creative environment, can manage multiple productions simultaneously, and knows how to bring together talent, crews, vendors, budgets, schedules, and creative teams to successfully execute a production.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all production operations across Scatter Brothers Productions.
• Manage productions from initial planning and pre-production through filming, post-production, and delivery.
• Develop and maintain production budgets, schedules, timelines, and workflow systems.
• Work closely with producers, directors, writers, clients, creative teams, and production crews.
• Hire, coordinate, and manage cast, crew, vendors, freelancers, and production partners.
• Negotiate rates, contracts, equipment rentals, locations, vendors, and other production services.
• Monitor production budgets and proactively identify and resolve potential cost overruns.
• Ensure productions remain on schedule and quickly address logistical or operational challenges.
• Oversee production logistics, including locations, transportation, equipment, staffing, permits, insurance, catering, and other production needs.
• Establish and maintain production standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Ensure all productions comply with applicable safety requirements, contracts, labor regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate closely with post-production teams to ensure projects transition smoothly from production to final delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with crew members, vendors, studios, agencies, clients, and creative partners.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen production capabilities.
• Provide regular updates to executive leadership regarding budgets, schedules, risks, and production progress.
• Help develop the company’s production infrastructure as Scatter Brothers Productions continues to grow.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional production experience, preferably in film, television, commercial, branded, or digital media.
• Proven experience managing productions from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of production budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and logistics.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing production teams and multiple departments.
• Strong vendor negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities under tight deadlines.
• Strong financial and budget-management skills.
• Comfortable making quick, informed decisions in high-pressure production environments.
• Working knowledge of production contracts, insurance, permits, safety practices, and industry standards.
• Proficiency with production-management, scheduling, budgeting, and project-management tools.
• A strong network of production professionals, vendors, and creative talent is a plus.
