Construction Quality Assurance Technician

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document construction activities at solid waste landfill facilities, including field inspection and testing of soils and geosynthetic liners.
• Supervise and complete construction quality assurance (CQA) and quality control (CQC) work across multiple states, including landfill components and environmental control systems.
• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
• Assist higher-level technicians and staff professionals with basic testing and observation duties under close supervision.
• Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client and contractor representatives regarding site conditions, project requirements, and testing results.
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital daily reports to the Project Manager.
• Provide clear documentation of findings and communicate accuracy of data prior to submittal.
• Transport material samples with identifying documentation to the laboratory for additional analysis.
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas to quality standards on all projects.
• Follow all safety rules, practices, and requirements; complete pre-task planning before work begins and report any safety concerns to management.
• Take on progressively increased training and responsibility over time.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidate has at least one of the following: landfill, solid waste, or gas industry experience; construction quality/documentation experience; or experience running field tests.
• High school diploma required.
• At least 6 months of relevant CQA and/or field-based experience.
• Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office).
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license required; must pass MVR review.
