Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Montgomery AL. Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour Schedule: Monday Friday, 6:30 AM 3:30 PM

Job Summary: The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for receiving incoming materials, preparing outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting the daily warehouse and production operations. This position ensures that materials, parts, and finished products are handled, stored, and shipped safely, accurately, and efficiently. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in shipping, receiving, inventory control, and forklift operation within a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, unload, inspect, and verify incoming materials, supplies, parts, and equipment.
• Compare received items against purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and other shipping documents.
• Report shortages, overages, damaged materials, and incorrect shipments to the appropriate supervisor.
• Label, organize, and store incoming materials in their assigned locations.
• Pick, pack, stage, and prepare finished products and materials for outgoing shipments.
• Verify customer orders to ensure the correct products, quantities, and shipping information are included.
• Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
• Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and according to company procedures.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and physical inventory.
• Enter shipping, receiving, and inventory information into company computer systems.
• Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other departments to resolve shipping or inventory concerns.
• Monitor inventory locations and ensure materials are stored safely and properly.
• Track incoming and outgoing shipments and communicate delays or discrepancies to supervisors.
• Maintain shipping and receiving records in an accurate and organized manner.
• Safely handle heavy, oversized, or specialized materials and finished products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving area.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable shipping regulations.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment.
• Perform additional warehouse, inventory, and material-handling duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory, or material-handling experience.
• Forklift experience and the ability to safely operate material-handling equipment.
• Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, shipping labels, and work instructions.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to accurately count, verify, label, and document materials and products.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, delivery drivers, and other departments.
• Dependable, with good attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Ability to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as required.
• Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous shipping and receiving experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Current forklift certification.
• Experience using inventory, warehouse-management, or enterprise resource planning systems.
• Experience with cycle counts, physical inventory, and inventory reconciliation.
• Knowledge of freight procedures, shipping carriers, and transportation documents.
• Experience using scanners, scales, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
