Pharmacy Tech | Butler, Pennsylvania

An experienced Retail Pharmacy Technician is needed immediately for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Butler, PA. This position focuses on specialty retail pharmacy, serving complex patients who manage 8 to 15 medications daily. Strong communication skills and patience are critical, as you will be supporting patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.


Responsibilities:

• Assist in dispensing medications efficiently and accurately
• Communicate compassionately with Medicare/Medicaid patients, many with low literacy and chronic disease management needs
• Utilize pharmacy software, preferably Pioneer Rx (training available)
• Support pharmacy operations Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a lunch break from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Previous experience in retail pharmacy, specialty pharmacy experience highly preferred
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients who have advanced chronic illnesses
• PA Board of Pharmacy registration required; national certification (PTCB) highly preferred but not mandatory
• Resume must clearly highlight experience with chronic disease patient populations
• Reliable with strong work ethics to maintain consistent attendance and performance
