Drafter/CAD Operator

Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a Drafter/CAD Operator. In this role, you will create and maintain a library of engineering drawings using AutoCAD, MS Visio, or similar applications to document facilities layout and system data interfaces. You will maintain configuration control of approved final drawings and coordinate with engineers to draft working copies for engineering projects and proposed design changes. Work is performed at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops Island, VA. SCSC is located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and provides AEGIS and Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) combat systems for engineering, testing, training, and certification.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills This position requires at least a high school diploma or GED and five (5) years of experience relevant to AutoCAD, MS Visio, or related applications, and experience adhering to American Institute of Architects (AIA) CAD Layer Guidelines.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Experience with U.S. Navy AEGIS and/or SSDS systems.
• Associate’s degree in drafting or related field.
• A CAD certification.

Pay Information
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
