Job Description The Security Officer role is an on-site position based in Richmond, VA. In this role, the Security Officer will monitor premises, patrol assigned areas, and control access to facilities to help prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry. Responsibilities include observing and reporting suspicious activity, responding to alarms and incidents, and liaising with clients, visitors, and local authorities as needed. The Security Officer will complete accurate incident and daily activity reports, comply with post orders and company policies, and support emergency procedures such as evacuations and medical responses. The role requires maintaining a professional presence, providing courteous customer service, and contributing to a safe environment for clients and the public. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong situational awareness, observation, and reporting skills to identify risks and document incidents clearly. Candidates should possess effective communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients, visitors, and team members. Candidates should possess basic computer and documentation skills to complete incident reports, logs, and internal forms accurately. Candidates should possess reliable judgment, problem-solving, and conflict de-escalation skills to respond calmly to security issues and emergencies. Candidates should possess the physical ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods and respond quickly in emergencies. Valid security officer license or eligibility to obtain one in British Columbia is required; first aid/CPR certification is an asset.
