Responsibilities Perform nursing care tasks consistent with individual treatment plans Administer medication Attending to individuals’ personal care needs including daily living and hygiene tasks Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Licensed Practical Nurse if they have: License and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State; or Limited Permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State; or Application on file for a Limited Permit to practice as a practical nurse in New York State. OR Candidates within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
