Physician - Surgery - General Grand Island

Summary: We are looking for a general surgeon to cover acute care surgery and trauma surgery. General surgeon should be comfortable with all basic general surgical procedures. Will be responsible for daily rounding on all patients admitted to the general surgery or trauma service as well as any consult received during the assignment.

Rate Caps for Submission:
Malpractice - Must be included in rates.
Orientation - half the hourly/callback rate*** kicks in after 8 hours. "Per hour of orientation or training beyond 8 hours"
Holiday - Must be 1.5x the hourly rate*** "Per holiday hour, no OT"
On Call (Daily) - ***-*** - "Per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis"
24 Hour Holiday Call Rate - *** to *** - "Per 24 hours to include 4 hours gratis"
Call Back - ***-*** - "Per hour of patient contact hours, after gratis hours are completed, gratis prorate to MSA terms."
Holiday Call Back - *** to *** - "Per holiday hour of patient contact hours, after gratis hours are completed, gratis prorate to MSA terms."

Schedule/Availability Requirements:
10 days to cover in Jan, Feb and March
Facility Location: Grand Island, Nebraska
Setting: Acute Care inpatient/outpatient hospital. 159 bed facility
Duties: 24/7 Trauma/Acute surgery call at level 3 trauma center
Required Procedures: Basic general surgery procedures, comfortable with trauma
EMR: Epic
Support Staff: Inpatient coverage only- hospital staff
Reason for Coverage: currently hospital coverage is provided by 2 groups- 1 with 4 partners and 1 solo practitioner practice. The group with 4 providers has decided to withdraw their price levels.

Travel Preferences (see attachment for specific travel guidelines):
• Preferred Lodging: none. In the event that the CommonSpirit Health preferred hotel is not available, hotel/lodging rates will be reimbursed based on actual expense, up to 1.5 times the current GSA rate for the market.
• ir Travel: ***/round trip cap
• Rental Cars: ***/day all in cap (including taxes and fees) regardless of car class.
• Mileage: IRS Standard Rate
• Please detail any anticipated travel exceptions, for example a dietary restriction necessitating specific lodging situations. Travel exception requests will be denied if this information is not part of the provider presentation. Please also indicate the city where provider will be traveling from in the travel section of the provider submission.

Credentialing Information:
Timeframe: will expedite credentials at facility as long as all documents returns in a timely manner
Requirements:
Completion of a General Surgery Residency
Current Board (MD/DO) Certification
Case log from the previous 12 months of at least 100 surgical procedures of different scope and variety as to what is being requested, including trauma.
Current ATLS certification.
