Travel RN – Med Step Down Intermediate (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (19:00–07:30) | 13-Week Assignment | 36 or 48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
• Manage and care for patients with conditions including respiratory failure, COPD, GI bleed, ETOH, overdose, electrolyte imbalance, and cancer
• Operate and monitor specialized respiratory equipment including tracheostomy, ventilators, VAPOTHERM, and BiPAP
• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable standards and guidelines

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license – must be eligible for or currently hold licensure in the state of Missouri
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient Step Down experience
• Demonstrated Trach and Ventilator experience required – this is a respiratory-heavy unit
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Flu vaccination (or facility-approved exemption) required November 1 through April 1

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with a high-acuity, respiratory-focused patient population
• Demonstrated ability to float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
• Strong teamwork, dependability, and flexibility in a fast-paced clinical environment
