Schedule : Full-time, 40 hours per week | Monday - Friday | 8am - 4:30pm | No weekends! No holidays!

What You'll Do:
PACE of Southwest Michigan is looking for a compassionate, motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to help bring movement, independence, and confidence back to the people we serve. In this role, you won't just follow a routine-you'll be part of a dynamic care team dedicated to helping participants live safely and comfortably in their homes and communities.
Your day may take you beyond the clinic-into nursing homes and participants' homes-where you'll deliver hands-on care in the environments that matter most.


Key Responsibilities

• Assists in performing treatment as developed and directed by the Physical Therapist (PT).
• Conducts nursing home and home site visits as needed/directed by the PT.
• Maintains and completes documentation, department records and reports.
• Operates and maintains equipment in a safe and orderly manner.
• Uses appropriate safety measures when providing care and perform other job duties.
• Delivers training to caregivers, family members and friends for the applicable area of treatment plan, under the direction of the PT.
• Assist the PT in reviewing restorative care plans.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Active and unencumbered Physical Therapy Assistant certification to practice in the state of Michigan.
• One (1) year of experience in a clinical setting.
• One (1) year of experience working with the elderly.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
• Able to utilize computer skills in the workplace.
• Knowledge of physical, mental and social needs of frail older adults.
• Effective skills in physical assessment and chronic disease management for frail older adults.
