Senior Electrical Power Engineer

We are seeking a qualified Senior Electrical Engineer to help clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Owner’s Engineer and/or Advisor. Responsibilities Lead power generation design projects for utility-scale systems, including supporting traditional Owner’s Engineer roles. Design and supervise power generation and distribution, protection and motor control, power system studies, construction and equipment specification development, and balance of plant designs (e.g., raceways, lighting, grounding). Mentor junior engineers, manage client relationships, and lead marketing activities such as proposal writing, fee development, and work breakdown structure creation in response to RFPs. Perform design and engineer-of-record duties for power plant systems and coordinate with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews. Direct activities of other engineering professionals and provide mentorship as needed. Travel for client meetings and site visits as required (less than 10%). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program with an Electrical Power emphasis. Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Control Systems Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis. Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical power generation design. Experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation; prior experience with power consulting or EPC firms is desirable. Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills; strong leadership abilities to work independently or lead multi-discipline teams. Extensive knowledge of three-phase electrical power, protection and control design and settings development, grounding, and related systems including lighting and instrumentation and life-safety considerations. Ability to support project reviews with management and mentor staff as needed. Travel expectations of less than 10% for client meetings and site visits. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Minimum of 10 years of experience. Professional Engineer (PE) or P.Eng license. Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector. Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (e.g., PLS-CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
