Cardiac Anesthesiologist

HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL, is seeking a Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join their team. The position involves managing anesthesia for a diverse range of cases, including cardiac, within a highly advanced surgical environment. The facility is a Certified Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and a Certified Level I Trauma Center. It is a teaching hospital affiliated with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. The surgery centers are considered among the most advanced of their type in the United States. Responsibilities Perform case assignments including General, Ortho, Cardiac, Pediatrics, and OB. Assist in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department. Manage the medical care of patients rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during medical procedures. Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments. Obtain and/or verify patient consent. Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients. Induce, maintain, and emerge patients from anesthesia. Monitor the patient's physiological condition. Perform clinical intervention as needed.
