Position Overview
This position is located in Adult Services under the Care Center Family Violence Program.
Examples Of Duties
The primary duty of this position(s) is to provide clerical support for the Care Center Family Violence Program. Position(s) responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- answering a crisis line and a business line
- entering case information into databases
- creating case records
- scheduling appointments for three counselors and one victim advocate
- utilizing Microsoft Outlook email and calendar
- customer tracking
- scanning documents
- maintaining workroom areas
- distributing mail
- ordering and distributing supplies
- copying and filing documentation
- maintaining and performing minor repairs on copiers
- maintaining excel spreadsheets
- and interacting effectively with the public
The employee in this position must be willing to work with victims and perpetrators of domestic violence. The employee must be patient and willing to hear traumatic stories and events. The employee must be willing to work overtime if needed. The person in this position must be team-oriented and possess a high degree of flexibility. The position is required to have a general working knowledge and understanding of clerical duties and functions within the section as well as specific tasks assigned by the Care Center Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through at least one year of office assistant/secretarial experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Conditions of employment: The selected applicant will be subject to the following conditions prior to appointment. Failure to complete or fulfill these conditions may result in dismissal. Has or is able to obtain a valid North Carolina Drivers License. This position will require assisting in emergency and/or disaster situations. The Cumberland County Department of Social Services has a dress code policy that must be adhered to. This policy includes specific guidelines related to tattoos and body piercing.
