The successful candidate will be tasked with protecting the company's systems, data, and customers from a dynamic threat landscape, while ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance standards. This high-visibility leadership role demands a seasoned cybersecurity professional with a proven track record in building and managing security programs, particularly in a regulated, publicly traded environment. The CISO will be responsible for a wide range of activities, including but not limited to, leading the security operations function, owning the SOC 2 program, driving compliance with state and federal cybersecurity regulations, and managing third-party and vendor cybersecurity risk programs. Applicants for the CISO position at the company must have a minimum of 10 years' experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a senior security leadership role. A strong background in GRC, experience with cybersecurity regulations in a regulated industry, and a history of effective cross-functional leadership are essential. The ideal candidate will have a builder's mindset, be adept at embedding security into engineering culture, and possess the ability to communicate security matters with intellectual honesty and clarity. While not mandatory, experience in the insurance, Insurtech, or fintech industry, as well as relevant security certifications, are considered advantageous. The role also requires the CISO to lead a culture of security awareness, manage the cybersecurity team, and drive continuous improvement in security practices.
