Campus Safety Student Worker (FWS/NFWS)

Purpose Within the Organization: The purpose of the Campus Safety Student Guard position is to assist with GCU’s Public Safety department in an effort to keep the campus safe. Responsibilities Related to Purpose Direct traffic to different campus locations at booths. Greet, ID, and decal check everyone coming onto campus. Assist with other details as assigned by a Public Safety Supervisor or Manager. Work a minimum of two shifts a week, up to 20 hours a week. Shift Needs Day Shift: 0530-1500; every day except Wednesdays. Swing Shift: 1430-2100; every day except Wednesdays. Night Shift: 2200-0230; Friday and Saturday nights only. Qualifications Criminal Justice Studies or ROTC students preferred. Sophomores and upperclassmen preferred; freshmen will only be considered in special cases. The ideal candidate will have a positive, friendly, and outgoing personality. Customer service oriented. Must be punctual. Willingness to learn and able to follow procedures. Responsible, trustworthy, approachable, and assertive. Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Requirements Valid driver's license Clean driving record Education: Grand Canyon University is committed to a student-first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment: Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program. Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student. Maintain good financial standing with the University. You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
