The ideal candidate should have 2 to 3 years of prior Boilermaker experience working in a shop or field and be able to perform the necessary tasks required to repair, rebuild, and fabricate shell-and-tube heat exchangers.Essential Duties/Responsibilities Include:Perform breakdown of bundle to include knocking stubs and pulling tubesPerform mechanical cleaning including sawing, grinding, and chippingRead a tape measure down to 1/16 inchRead and interpret blueprints to understand work specificationsInstall test heads on bundlesPerform Hydro test on bundle or vesselInspect and test vessels for system defects or malfunctionsAssemble and line up tube sheets and baffles for retubing bundlesOperate overhead crane, attaching slings safely and correctly for liftsLoad and unload trucksHook up and break down equipmentOperate various power tools, including grinder, roll motor, impact gun, knocking gun and tuggerOperate band saw, bundle extractor, chop saw, and tube rolling equipmentComply with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the company.Ensure all safety procedures are followedDemonstrate effective communication with supervisors and co-workersComprehend instructions verbally and in writingSkills and ExperienceRequirements:The successful applicant will possess the following and be able to meet pre-employment screening requirements.2-3 years of relevant Boilermaker experience in a shop or in the fieldHigh school diploma or equivalentWorking knowledge of fabrication shop practicesMust be able to read and write EnglishMust be able to interpret drawingsAccurately read and interpret measuring devicesMust be able to stand for long periods of timeMust be able to bend, push, pull, twist, squat, crawl, lift, and reach overheadMust be able to lift and carry 50 poundsMust be able to operate powered industrial truck and mechanical lift equipment, including overhead craneAbility to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectivelyAbility to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors, including knowledge, experience, and judgment requiredAbility to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers required.Must be able to work, when necessary, overtime, day and night shift, and/or weekendHourly pay for the Boilermaker position is $24.25 - $28.50 per hour depending on experience. Day shift and night shift positions available.
