A pawnbroker is responsible for managing retail transactions involving loans secured by personal items, evaluating loan requests, and ensuring smooth customer interactions. Working within a small team of 2-5 people, this role handles inventory management, dispute resolution, and cash transactions without the need for external travel or supervisory duties. The pawnbroker also supports online pawn and sales platform management alongside traditional retail operations.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate loan applications and determine appropriate loan amounts
- Engage with customers to facilitate transactions and provide service
- Process retail transactions and manage online pawn platform operations
- Oversee inventory of pawned items and merchandise
- Resolve customer disputes and address concerns effectively
- Handle cash transactions accurately and securely
Preferred Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in retail or financial services
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service skills
- Cash handling proficiency
- Inventory management knowledge
- Negotiation abilities
- Understanding of regulatory compliance
