Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Outpatient Surgery/OR position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, with no call, no weekends, and no holidays.

Details

• Ambulatory OR setting within an outpatient surgery center
• Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• No on-call, no weekend, and no holiday requirements
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Surgical specialties include plastics, podiatry, general surgery, ENT, pediatric ENT, and oral/dental procedures
• Procedures include abdominoplasty, breast augmentation, fat grafting, free flap/microvascular reconstruction, mastectomy with TRAM flap, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, endoscopic sinus procedures, laryngectomy, septoplasty/rhinoplasty, tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, myringotomy with tubes, tracheostomy, and pediatric dentistry
• Altera charting system experience preferred but not required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of outpatient surgery/OR experience required
• 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 150 miles from the facility to qualify for this position

Additional Information

• Travel nursing experience preferred but not required — first-time travelers will be considered
• The facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana; a positive result results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions — candidates should avoid all substances that could result in a positive test, including CBD products, prior to and during the assignment
• Previous permanent employees of the facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• RTO of no more than 2–3 consecutive weekdays will be accommodated
• Lab work must be completed within 72 hours of accepting an offer, or a completion plan must be in place within that timeframe
• Orientation includes 6–8 hours of online modules
