Description:
- The Director of Imaging Services supervises, coordinates, and participates in the activities of the Imaging department to ensure that the department provides quality testing and procedure results for assisting in the evaluation and diagnosis of patient conditions.
- EPIC (EHR), Pyxis (Medication System)
- The Director of Imaging Services supervises, coordinates, and participates in the activities of the Imaging department to ensure that the department provides quality testing and procedure results for assisting in the evaluation and diagnosis of patient conditions.
- Responsible for the fiscal management of department operations to ensure proper utilization of organizations financial resources. Maintain a budget variance within 5% of the department's budget or adequate explanation of greater variance. Participates in developing annual operating and capital budgets and makes recommendations for long-term financial planning to achieve future success.
- Human Resources
- Responsible for effective human resource management within the department to achieve and maintain quality services and positive employee relations. Select, train, motivate and evaluate department personnel; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to develop short and long term goals, monitor accomplishments, establish performance requirements and provide coaching for performance improvement and development.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure departmental compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and standards as required and enforced by regulatory agencies.
- Quality of Services
- Responsible for department's operational excellence; ensures that department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Communication & Teamwork
- Demonstrates strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, necessary to interact with all internal and external customers and staff. Develops positive rapport with team members by encouraging constructive relationships; respects, appreciates, and supports the diversity of ideas; demonstrates team effectiveness skills by acting for the good of the team.
- Imaging Department Operations
- The Director organizes and plans activities of the Imaging department. This may include establishing and updating policies and procedures in accordance with hospital policies, standard practices of the profession, and related state and federal laws; regularly conferring with other departments to coordinate the activities and needs of the Imaging department; initiating plans to motivate staff and achieve work goals; timely and accurate reporting; promoting professional growth among staff by identifying and meeting staff education needs. Major departmental problems are solved at this level. Those which affect other departments are reviewed with department directors and the Administration as appropriate. The major challenge of this position is to coordinate and organize the department's overall and daily operations to ensure that quality, cost effective services are provided. Departmental goals and objectives are identified appropriately, submitted on time, and progress is on schedule or explained.
- Patient Care
- The Imaging Director may work as a staff member in the department as appropriate, and provide patient examination and care with regard to the specific needs of patients of all ages, and is assisted in meeting the position's accountabilities by the following positions: Ultrasound Technologist, CT Technologist, Radiologic Technologist, Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Mammography Technologist, MRI Technologist, Receptionist, Administrative Assistant.
- Quality
- A quality plan specific to the department is developed with staff involvement - reports are submitted on time - department meeting minutes reflect results of quality monitors - changes are implemented and result in improved outcome - implementation of improvement processes involve staff members and results in improved customer satisfaction and employee morale - evidence of interdepartmental collaboration into the hospital wide quality process. The Director develops and implements quality control procedures. This includes developing, monitoring, and reporting of quality studies; modifying departmental practices to improve outcome; involving staff in the quality process; providing for identified education needs; participating in the improvement process; and collaborating with other health care professionals interdepartmentally and within the community to address identified problems.
- Continuous Learning
- Takes responsibility for personal and professional development by participating in professional organizations and hospital committees; increasing knowledge base through continuing education; maintaining specialty certification, as appropriate; promoting the professional image of the hospital through community involvement; and contributing to the professional growth of others.
- Collaboration
- This position is in frequent contact with physicians, nursing personnel and other patient care departments regarding patient testing and results, and is in frequent contact with patients of all ages during day-to-day operations. This position is also in contact with other department directors when coordinating the radiology services to meet their needs and activities. Externally, this position is in contact with sales and repair personnel of equipment and supplies.

- Attendance at required meetings - department head - department staff meeting - department medical staff committee meeting - participates constructively in the meeting process.
- Professionalism
- Projects a professional image within the hospital and to the public. Communications are carried out in a cooperative manner encouraging a team spirit in and among departments.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Healthcare
- 3+ years of Imaging Radiography experience
- 3+ years of Leadership - Progressively Responsible experience is required
- Registered Technologist from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
