Full-time | On-site | $110,000–$150,000/year, based on experience

About the role

PME Babbitt Bearings is looking for an experienced Plant Manager to lead day-to-day operations at our Minden, NV facility. You'll oversee scheduling, staff, and quality standards, working closely with the Shop Supervisor and reporting directly to the General Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows machining and bearing/babbitt repair work and can keep a shop running efficiently while keeping customers happy.

What you'll do

• Set daily work schedules and priorities based on job deadlines and customer needs
• Supervise, evaluate, and support the Shop Supervisor and shop staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
• Maintain the facility's ISO Quality Management System and oversee quality assurance and performance improvement efforts
• Ensure safe, clean, and efficient shop and office operations
• Purchase tooling, equipment, and supplies (with corporate approval) to maintain and improve efficiency and quality
• Meet with customers and source inspectors to provide technical support, pricing, and turnaround estimates
• Resolve customer, job performance, and quality issues as they come up
• Manage facility costs, expenditures, and income
• Read and interpret technical drawings and sketches
• Maintain required documentation and records in line with company policy

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of management or supervisory experience
• Knowledge of general machining, babbitting procedures, and standard operating procedures
• Familiarity with UT and PT inspection procedures
• Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
• Self-motivated with strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Comfortable managing scheduling demands for both the shop and customers
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings
