Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy TechnicianA freestanding ER in Tyler, TX is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join their team. The Pharmacy Technician will strive to provide proficient, competent care while maintaining the patient's sense of comfort and dignity.Responsibilities for the Pharmacy Technician:Stocking each assigned location with medications.Stocking medical carts and cabinets at all locations.Monitoring refrigerated medications, making sure they are up to date, not expired, and stocked.Rotating medications when stocking and verifying medications have expiration date stickers on them.Checking temperature logs at each location daily.Checking crash cart check offs at each location; Notifying Charge Lead Nurse if crash carts have not been checked off.Stocking new medications received in pharmacy storage.Labeling all new medications with expiration date stickers and rotating older medications forward and stocking new medications in the back.Cleaning and maintaining medical rooms and pharmacies, to ensure they are free of clutter, cardboard, etc.Checking the ENT, EYE, RSI, Dental, Pneumothorax, Hypothermia, STEMI, and Anaphylaxis box and ensure it is stocked and medications are not expired.Ensuring expiration dots on the outside of medical carts at all locations are up to date. Pulling all expired medications, a month in advance and replacing with new.Meeting the requirements of applicable federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines.Requirements and Qualifications:Maintain flexibility and availability for on-call and any coverage requirements that are not otherwise met by the Pharmacy Department staff.Customer service experience: demonstrated ability in customer service practice related to direct patient care in a high volume, high stress environment.Understanding of clinical care and privacy.Integrity and responsibility; will have access to company credit card and petty cash, and the company vehicle.Current driver's license with no restrictions.Ability to work unsupervised; Willingness to take initiative and ability to work as a team member/independently to perform job responsibilities and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.Demonstrated competency of Physical Assessment within 90 days, as evaluated by Manager of Facility Services.High School Diploma or GED.Previous customer service experience, direct patient care preferred.Ability to read, speak, and write the English language.Pharmacy Technician License issued by TSBP in Current status.Pay & Benefits:Night shift differential401K with company matchAdditional benefits for full-time employeesJob description statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job title.
