Lead Principal Product Manager - Private Markets

Overview Trillions of dollars flow through private equity, venture capital, private credit, and real assets, yet the software managing this capital often lags behind. SimCorp is modernizing the private market ecosystem for institutional investors. We are looking for a world‑class Product Manager to help build what comes next. Key Responsibilities Orchestrate high‑stakes product demonstrations, executive roundtables and client conferences. Define, own and evolve the product roadmap for our private markets platform. Be the primary point of contact for private markets and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders. Strategically own, manage and prioritize the product backlog in lockstep with leadership. Deeply immerse yourself in the workflows of private markets – conducting interviews, shadowing users, and synthesizing feedback into actionable insights. Write product specifications and work with engineering and design to ship high‑quality features on time. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to author comprehensive user stories and establish rigorous acceptance criteria. Define success metrics for initiatives and use data to evaluate outcomes and communicate results to stakeholders. Partner with Sales and Customer Success to understand market gaps, competitive dynamics, and evolving needs. Identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate AI and automation into core workflows. Drive alignment across cross‑functional teams and ensure clarity on priorities, trade‑offs, and the "why" behind decisions. Stay ahead of regulatory developments, market trends, and competitive shifts. Represent the voice of the customer in every product decision, advocating for user experience without sacrificing business viability. Qualifications 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in B2B SaaS or fintech. Meaningful exposure to private markets through prior work at a PE firm, fund administrator, placement agent, LP, or financial software company. Demonstrated track record of launching products and features that users love and that drive measurable business results. Strong understanding of private asset structures, capital calls, distributions, investor reporting, and related workflows. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in working with data and building dashboards. Experience collaborating with engineering teams in an agile environment. High EQ and ability to build trust quickly with customers, engineers, and senior leadership. A genuine curiosity about technology and its role in reshaping financial services. Experience engaging proactively with clients and stakeholders to solicit input for user stories. Broad knowledge of the Alternative Investment marketplace and system vendors. Experience with SimCorp Dimension® is advantageous but not required. Proven track record in roles such as Product Manager, Product Owner, Engineering, Business Analyst, Project Manager, or Consultant. Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills focused on business outcomes. Ability to encourage, motivate, and influence teams and peers. Understanding of how great products are built and deliver value to clients. Creative and inquisitive mindset with the ability to simplify complex concepts. Degree in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, or related field (preferred). Compensation For New York City: $210,000 - $300,000 plus discretionary bonus and benefits. For Toronto: $180,000 – $275,000 CAD plus bonus and benefits.
