PURCHASING CLERK

Monday - Friday

8:00am - 5:00pm

$22.00 DOE

ROLE PURPOSE

Compile and maintain records of business transactions and office activities of establishment by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Compile, copy, and maintain records, data, and reports using computer systems and office equipment.
• Enter and manage all purchase orders; prepare purchase orders and bid requests, review requisitions, and purchase necessary supplies.
• Communicate new purchase orders to vendors by phone, fax, or mail and follow up on order status, pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules.
• Address vendor discrepancies involving order quantity or product quality and resolve purchasing issues in coordination with vendors and internal departments.
• Assist with developing and maintaining the inventory tracking system and provide support to other departments as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Knowledge of procurement and purchasing processes, vendor sourcing and management, purchase order administration, and inventory control and replenishment.
• Maintain professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail while providing quality service.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills.
• Frequently use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms; regularly sit, stand, or bend.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Must have steel toed boots

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The working conditions are normal for an office environment. This position may require exposure to other areas of the manufacturing process. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, Odors and weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Occasional visits to moderate noise may be required.
