Activities AssistantMarycrest Manor is seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our team and enrich the lives of our residents through engaging, meaningful activities. In this vital role, you will implement activity programs as developed by the Activity Coordinator for residents at all levels of care and functioning. Responsible for maintaining a consistent dynamic in programs that support interpersonal involvement and engagement of residents for augmented quality of life in body, mind and spirit.Duties:Organize, implement and direct scheduled activities of a recreational, physical, educational, social and spiritual nature for residents both in groups and for individuals.Ensure participation of all residents and that activities offered can be applied to various levels of functioning according to recorded resident assessments.Assist the Activities Director in obtaining physician and responsible party clearance pass for residents to go off campus to field trip events.Perform room visitations and activities as required by schedule and/or observed need.Assist Activities Director with Resident Council meetings, as required.Assist Activities Director in interviewing of residents and creating plan of activities to be incorporated into resident's overall care plans.Keep clear and concise documentation on logs and in resident charts of resident participation in activities as required by state regulations and facility policy. Working knowledge in the use of the E-charting system.Maintain activity spaces and storage areas in a clean, organized and hazard free manner according to state regulation.Is consistently punctual for set up for resident activities. Transport residents to assigned locations for activity.Monitor and supervise residents at all times during activities to ensure resident safety.Assist in passing meal trays to residents at mealtimes. Ensure correct tray is given to correct resident.Assist and participate in hydration program for residents.Adheres to professional dress code that reflects the mission of Marycrest Manor with excellent grooming and appearance.Be knowledgeable and follow all safety procedures and regulations established in the employee handbook.Position Requirements:Prior experience in assisted living facilities or nursing homes is highly preferred. Demonstrated background in event planning or recreational therapy within senior care or long-term care settings. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care strategies, and aging issues counseling is advantageous. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in home & community care environments is beneficial. Strong communication skills are essential for engaging residents effectively and collaborating with team members. Familiarity with assisting residents with ADLs and managing activity schedules ensures smooth program delivery. Ability to work flexible hours required, including availability for weekends and holidays. Ability to supervise several residents at a time for group activities. Keen awareness and observation skills to identify reportable changes in residents and/or their environment. Converse with residents in a familiar and respectful manner that engages them in a meaningful way and exhibits patience and tact.Join us to create joyful moments that enhance our residents' quality of life!
