Job Summary KBR Mission Technology Solutions is seeking a motivated and talented Radar Engineer to join our team in Lexington Park, MD. Fundamentally, systems engineers solve problems, often by combining traditionally disparate methods into new, creative solutions. The selectee will contribute to the design, development, implementation, and integration of next-generation radar solutions for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR). Roles and Responsibilities Radar Engineering: Provide technical and engineering direct support to government program office in charge of developing, integrating, testing, and evaluating a next‑generation airborne naval radar. Deliver authoritative technical assessments of radar and tracking system performance, flight and ground test methods, and tactical operations. Systems Engineering: Perform trade studies, risk analyses, create models and simulations of design concepts, and develop radar performance requirements. Provide radar subject matter expertise to developmental and operational test activities, and develop acquisition and technical documentation. Collaboration: Selectee will serve as a technical liaison with government laboratories, industry partners, and operational stakeholders, and will apply technical program management principles to coordinate solutions among all parties. Basic Qualifications Education: Master’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET‑accredited program, or in physics from a regionally‑accredited college or university. Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of radar experience, including antenna design and analysis, RF signal processing, radar modeling and simulation, and detection or tracking performance analysis. Skills: Good communications skills in writing and presenting technical material. Security clearance: Active secret security clearance. Selectee must also have the ability to obtain a final DoD Top Secret security clearance within six months of start date. Preferred Qualifications Experience: UHF radar development, including airborne surveillance, synthetic aperture radar, electronic warfare, and electronic intelligence systems. ACAT Level I or II acquisition programs, network‑centric warfare initiatives, system‑of‑systems engineering, and multi‑platform sensor integration. Skills: Strong communications skills as evidenced by peer‑reviewed journal publications and conference presentations, technical program management, and security classification guidance. Security Clearance: Active top secret security clearance. Work Environment Location: On‑site; no remote work available. Travel Requirements: Moderate (10% to 25%) travel to government and contractor facilities, test sites, or technical meetings and conferences. Working Hours: Flexible. Standard government work hour support and surge support during integration and test phases. Compensation Compensation: $143,660.00 - $215,490.00. The salary range posted is for Maryland locations. The offered rate will be based on contract affordability, the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity. Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short‑term incentives, long‑term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
