Position Purpose TAIT partners with artists, brands, IP holders and place makers to bring culture-defining, never-before-seen experiences to life. The In‑Field Art Director leads visual direction, installation, and fabrication strategy for immersive TAIT experiences, translating creative concepts into fully realized physical environments. Working closely with on‑site teams, designers, vendors, and consultants, they serve as the on‑site creative authority and primary liaison between clients, the design studio, and operations to ensure cohesive execution and an exceptional guest experience. From design development through completion, the In‑Field Art Director upholds the creative vision established by design leadership, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative, narrative‑driven environments. They balance creative intent with technical, safety, and operational requirements, reviewing drawings, fabrication packages, and installations while identifying and resolving challenges through clear visual communication, mark‑ups, and sketches. The ideal candidate brings strong creative leadership, technical expertise, and collaborative skills, contributing to client presentations and clearly articulating design concepts and decision‑making. As a representative of TAIT’s creative team, they build trusted partnerships, mentor on‑site teams, and foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and excellence, consistently elevating project outcomes and client satisfaction. Responsibilities The ideal candidate will possess the expertise and creativity necessary to lead and collaborate in developing innovative design concepts for entertainment venues. They should be a confident team player who works closelywith project management and the broader design team to create designs that align with—and elevate— the guest experience. Additionally, they will play a key role in supporting client presentations by clearlyarticulating the creative vision and rationale behind design decisions. As an In‑Field Art Director, they will work independently on projects alongside a wide team of designers, fabricators, vendors, and contractors. Acting as the creative agent on site, they will uphold and represent the project vision and objectives established by the broader design leadership. They will attend vendor and client meetings as a representative of the project team, review vendor and partner drawings, and identify revisions necessary to support facility requirements and technical integration. The In‑Field Art Director communicates confidently with clients, vendors, and partners as a representative of TAIT and the larger creative team. They help strategically resolve creative challenges in collaboration with vendors and partners, offering design solutions through quick sketches or other visual tools to clearly convey intent. They are expected to perform all assigned duties in accordance with company policies, standards, and expectations. Key Responsibilities Communicating aesthetic direction to team members, clients, vendors, and consultants. Reviewing contract design deliverables with Project Management and senior Art Directors and helping to develop schedules and strategies for delivery. Reviewing and critiquing all design and show set deliverables to ensure alignment with project goals and the approved creative vision. Reviewing work from all contributing disciplines and providing expert input to support project objectives across the board. Performing assigned duties according to company policies, standards, and expectations. People Management / Leadership Responsibilities As an In-Field Art Director, management responsibilities may include managing vendors, millworks, fabricators, ironworks, installation of graphics, rockwork and all scenic spaces; represening the team's creative vision, ensuring alignment with client goals and strengthening long-term partnerships; inspiring and coach the team to push creative boundaries, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence that drives increased client satisfaction. Position Requirements 7-10 years of experience in spatial design such as architecture, themed entertainment landscape architecture, or interiors 4+ years of experience in themed entertainment, casino, retail, or resort design preferred. Experience working with vendors and scenic shops, experience working for vendor a plus. 2-5+ years of leadership experience on a project team Experience working directly with clients in a professional, client‑facing capacity. Experience in the development of project resource schedules and budgets to ensure design tasks are staffed, planned, and aligned with overall project timelines. Required: Candidates must have in‑field art direction experience on the construction of at least one themed entertainment or leisure destination project Portfolio: Provide a portfolio that demonstrates the skills and qualifications required for the role, showcasing a range of previous projects. Please include examples of design direction across areas such as paint selections, thematic treatments, and millwork installations. Submissions should feature both work-in-progress documentation and final marketing photography. Experience - Knowledge and Skills Design & Technical Skills Ability to uphold and execute the creative vision while ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to project budget and schedule. Demonstrated experience directing and collaborating with scenic vendors, architects, technical integrators, and facility managers. Experience directing vendors, millworkers, fabricators, ironworkers, graphics vendors, and rockwork vendors for all scenic spaces. Strong ability to communicate aesthetic direction clearly to team members, clients, consultants, and project partners. Demonstrated understanding of inclusive, respectful design that supports a wide range of guest needs and experiences. Ability to read, interpret, and provide constructive feedback on architectural and construction drawings. Demonstrated leadership and management experience within a creative or production‑oriented environment. Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills. Experience in building and maintaining strong client relationships. Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining clear focus when needed. Proficiency in using digital design tools and directing remote or virtual team workflows. Solid grasp of the full design‑concept development process—from ideation through refinement. Understands ADA or IBC codes related to safety and accessibility. Softwares Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, to support Art Direction package assembly (or comparable software). Familiarity with current design tools and workflows such as SketchUp, Blender, Revit, 3ds Max, Rhino, Lumion, Unreal Engine, Unity, Bluebeam, and Enscape. Experience with Revit or Rhino is a plus. Ability to understand, view, and navigate within BIM360 Crucial Position Requirement This role will support a major project initiative as a project hire through early 2028. Through the remainder of 2026, the majority of work will be performed in the employee’s current location. Beginning in late 2026, the role will relocate to China for the duration of the project assignment. Relocation is required.
