Materials Planner

OVERVIEW

Perfetti Van Melle (makers of Mentos, Airheads, Dentyne, Trident and Bubblicious!) is one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum with global brands that are being enjoyed in more than 150 countries worldwide. We're currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Materials Planner to join our growing team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The JIT Materials Planner is responsible for the Just In Time (JIT) planning of material flow from Distribution Center to support Erlanger Production. This includes the coordination of inbound and outbound shipments to and from the manufacturing site. This must be done while maintaining compliance to cGMP's and other regulatory requirements, as well as PVM standards. Additional responsibilities include:

• Develop, plan & manage the detailed finite delivery schedules and coordinating the efficient movement of materials with Warehouse and Showcase.
• Analyze bulk and raw material inventory against planned usage.
• Place Stock Transfer Orders (STO's) in SAP, ensuring on time delivery, and maintaining targeted inventory levels.
• Manage inventory levels, optimize stock to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
• Work closely with manufacturing operations, production planning, WH, and Showcase (DC), and various corporate functions.
• Participate in activities with various departments, supply chain, production, and P&T, to ensure the success of manufacturing goals and objectives.
• Planning, scheduling, and managing the efficient movement of raw materials from origin to production.
• Properly handle numbers and batches of materials received using SAP. Control numbers, expiration dates and batches through alignment with material planner. Care for the stored materials by attaining accuracy of numbers, environmental, storage conditions, timely delivery to production departments, obsolescence, etc.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and material control systems activities related to material control and inventory control functions.
• Coordinating incoming and outgoing movement and storage of raw and pack materials to ensure material availability and delivery when needed to meet production schedules; use Material Requirements planning (MRP) systems (SAP).
• Ensure materials are ordered and in stock while maintaining acceptable inventory levels.
• Actively participate in Perfetti Performance Excellence (PPE) and the PMOS (Performance Management Operating System). Identify FMI (Fuelling Margin Improvements) projects, ways of working, etc. to deliver our financial commitments and drive out losses.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• 5+ years combined related work experience in manufacturing, with warehouse and inventory control experience.
• Food manufacturing background is a plus.
• 5+ years SAP experience.
• Must have strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally and effectively communicate both orally and in writing
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint as well as SAP and or other MRP related planning and warehouse management systems.
• Working knowledge of Just In Time (JIT) and other Lean Manufacturing techniques and processes.
• Must be able to prepare reports analysing productivity and labor - detail oriented.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/activities/programs simultaneously and easily adapt to changing situations and handle daily emergencies.
• Ability to make decisions guided by policies, procedures and technical knowledge that impact the company's ability to meet performance and compliance objectives.
• Must have a good temperament to work with a varying stakeholders and remain composed under pressure.
