Quality Inspector - Electromechanical

You will be supporting SQA's national inspection team in the field by performing quality inspection of electromechanical components. You will be a quality representative for our client on behalf of SQA to support quality improvements. This is a part-time opportunity requiring support one day per week . The schedule offers flexibility Monday through Friday, with no weekend work required. Compensation ranges from $30–$35 per hour , depending on experience. Key Responsibilities: Conduct visual, physical, and dimensional inspections (both in‑process and final) of parts, per project specifications and requirements. Perform incoming inspections from external providers of products and services (e.g., nickel plating). Conduct in‑process and final inspections of critical features, including witness inspections (e.g., CMM program run). Compile final inspection sign‑off sheets and inspection packages. Verify that inspection equipment is capable of detecting defects and ensure inspection methodology aligns with drawing intent. Review and validate the justification for parts not inspected at final inspection. Audit and validate the execution of inspection plans as applicable. Document non‑conformances using approved methods and submit non‑conformance reports for customer disposition. Verify hardware cleanliness and absence of internal or external foreign object debris. Verify fasteners are properly installed; assure torque stripe is continuous and of correct color. Assure products are free of gaps, mismatches, fairing, and of acceptable contour and waviness. Ensure products are of good workmanship and meet specified standards (e.g., oil canning, riding conditions, loose fasteners, drill starts, scratches, dings, burrs, fastener edge distance). Review and validate First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation, including completeness, traceability, and compliance. Ensure the protection and preservation of inspected products for subsequent processing and shipment. Verify applicable shipping documentation for legibility and completeness, including part number, serial number, configuration change letter, and shipping destination. Required Skills and Qualifications: Must have at least 4+ years of experience Must have experience with documents such as FAI, PO, COC and Process certification Extensive experience as a Quality Inspector or CMM Operator, with industry and commodity‑specific expertise. Proficiency in dimensional inspection of precision tolerance parts. Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with all inspection tools. Ability to understand and interpret complex GD&T requirements and validate complex assemblies. Experience with multiple primary and secondary part numbers (e.g., brackets, clips, doublers, splices, brackets, drip shields, etc.). Must be ITAR compliant Must be willing to undergo a background check Preferred Qualifications: Certified or previously certified in GD&T ASME Y‑14.5. 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with at least 2 years as a Mechanical Inspector. $30 - $35 an hour SQA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
