UT Health San Antonio, School of Dentistry Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Instructor/Clinical Oral Surgery The School of Dentistry at UT Health San Antonio is hiring positions for Instructor/Clinical, Oral Surgery for the 2025-2026 academic year at the non-tenure track level. These full-time, 12-month positions are 100% benefits eligible. Applicants must hold a DDS/DMD degree and be eligible to obtain a Texas dental licence, plus a Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Inhalation Sedation permit. The department will cover the fees for obtaining these licences. Primary Responsibilities Teaching: Instruct students and deliver direct patient care in dentoalveolar surgery at the Predoctoral Oral Surgery Clinic five days a week. Primary calling: Participate in the call schedule, scheduled for roughly Q4–5 primary calls at a Level 1 trauma center, shared with other Oral Surgery interns and rotating OMFS residents. Inpatient management: Acquire skills in pre‑/peri‑/post‑operative management in the inpatient setting. Didactics and educational activities: Participate in weekly morbidity and mortality (M & M) rounds. Participate in the dentofacial deformities treatment‑planning sessions with Oral Surgery/Orthodontic residents. Participate in monthly Clinical/Pathological Conferences with OMFS residents. Participate in the journal club with OMFS residents. Participate in the Implant/Prosthodontic Conference with OMFS residents. Attend lecture presentations given by OMFS faculty members. Develop and present lectures on designated topics as assigned. Minimum Qualifications DDS/DMD degree, with eligibility to obtain a Texas dental licence. Good academic record and interpersonal skills. Ability to obtain a Texas Dental licence and Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen Inhalation Sedation permit (fees covered by the department).
