About the Role
The Company is in search of a Head of U.S. Customs, Trade & Compliance to spearhead its national strategy in regulatory compliance, customs brokerage, and trade operations. This executive-level role is pivotal in driving enterprise-wide compliance, optimizing operational performance, and ensuring adherence to U.S. customs and tariff regulations. The successful candidate will have full ownership of customs-related performance, including risk management, operational excellence, and financial outcomes. Key responsibilities include leading the national strategy for customs, tariffs, and trade compliance, acting as the organization's licensed U.S. Customs Broker, and ensuring full compliance with all U.S. import and export regulations. The role also involves partnering with senior leadership, legal, and government affairs to anticipate regulatory changes, identifying and mitigating risks, and overseeing brokerage operations to drive improvements in clearance speed and operational efficiency. Applicants for the Head of U.S. Customs, Trade & Compliance position at the company should possess a Bachelor's degree, an active U.S. Customs Broker License, and a minimum of 10 years' leadership experience in customs, trade compliance, or international logistics. A strong knowledge of U.S. customs regulations, tariffs, and global trade frameworks is essential, as is experience in highly regulated, complex environments. The role requires a proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and regulatory agencies, strong analytical and strategic decision-making capabilities, and a track record of leading large-scale compliance programs and teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing compliance programs, policies, and internal controls, as well as leading audit and governance activities to ensure strong compliance outcomes. Continuous improvement, automation, and modernization initiatives are also key focus areas for this leadership role.
