Lead Embedded Software Engineer (Board Bring Up)

Salary: $73,150 - 174,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of embedded software experience, including 5+ years in a staff or lead position
• Hands-on experience with MediaTek SoC platforms, such as C-X1 or MT8xxx series, or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end ECU or SoC bring-up programs
• Strong expertise in BSP and kernel bring-up, including Linux and U-Boot or an equivalent bootloader
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python or Rust, and experience using hardware debugging tools such as Lauterbach, JTAG, and oscilloscopes
• Strong cross-functional communication skills and experience working directly with SoC vendors

• Lead iRDK bring-up on MediaTek C-X1 platforms, from EVK validation through custom board integration and production readiness
• Own platform development and drive BSP development, board bring-up, kernel integration, and system-level debugging
• Act as the primary technical contact with MediaTek for SoC enablement, escalations, and issue resolution
• Partner with hardware, software, QA, and product teams to integrate the platform
• Diagnose and resolve complex boot, driver, kernel, and hardware-software interaction issues
• Enable and optimize Linux-based embedded platforms, including bootloader and kernel customization
• Define bring-up plans, monitor technical milestones, and communicate progress to stakeholders
• Mentor engineering teams and provide technical guidance on embedded software practices
• Support productization, focusing on platform scalability, performance, stability, and maintainability
• Work with SoC vendors and external partners to speed issue resolution and technology adoption
