Senior Application Developer

We are looking for a Sr. Java Developer This role involves joining a highly collaborative, service-oriented engineering team supporting a large client-facing application environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional who combines strong development and problem-solving capabilities with excellent communication skills to interact directly with service teams and clients. Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, troubleshoot, and support applications within a Java-based environment.
- Take ownership of bugs, enhancements, production issues, and client/service requests from initial triage through resolution.
- Independently investigate technical issues and determine appropriate tactical and long-term solutions.
- Work effectively with minimal technical guidance and proactively determine next steps.
- Partner directly with internal service teams, technical stakeholders, and client-facing organizations to understand and resolve issues.
- Participate in client-facing technical discussions and clearly communicate technical issues, solutions, risks, and timelines.
- Support applications and services hosted within AWS.
- Work with databases as part of application development, troubleshooting, and production support activities.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to accelerate development, troubleshooting, testing, and solution delivery.
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency when addressing client-impacting issues.
- Contribute to an environment where engineers are expected to be problem solvers and solution builders, not simply task-based developers.
- Collaborate across development, QA, service, and business teams to improve application quality and the overall client experience.
- Strong hands-on Java development experience.
- Solid application development and coding background with the ability to independently troubleshoot and modify existing applications.
- Experience working with databases, including the ability to investigate and resolve application/database-related issues.
- Experience supporting or developing applications hosted within AWS.
- Strong production troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of technical issues without requiring detailed direction.
- Experience supporting bugs, enhancements, production issues, or service-related requests in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable interacting directly with non-technical stakeholders, service organizations, and clients.
- Ability to balance hands-on technical work with communication and relationship management.
- Experience utilizing or willingness to heavily leverage AI development/coding tools as part of the engineering workflow.

- Additional QA, testing, or test automation experience, provided the candidate also possesses strong hands-on coding capabilities.

- Demonstrated experience communicating technical information directly to customers or external clients.
