It is the location of Centenary College of Louisiana, Louisiana State University Shreveport, Louisiana Tech University Shreveport, Southern University at Shreveport, and Louisiana Baptist University. Its neighboring city Bossier City is the location of Bossier Parish Community College. The city forms part of the I-20 Cyber Corridor linking Shreveport and Bossier City, Ruston, Grambling, and Monroe to Dallas and Tyler, Texas, and Atlanta, Georgia. Population: 184,786 at the 2020 U.S. census Explore Shreveport The Facility: Barksdale Air Force Base For more than 86 years, Barksdale AFB has proudly served the Ark-La-Tex (Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas) area. As a key Air Force Global Strike Command base, Barksdale AFB has a pivotal role in providing a large part of the nation's deterrent force. Barksdale AFB is home to the 2nd Bomb Wing, 2nd Operations Group, 2nd Maintenance Group, 2nd Mission Support Group, the 2nd Medical Group, Barksdale Global Power Museum (which maintains the historical aircraft and artifacts that grace the base) and the Air Force Reserve's 307th Wing. Also calling Barksdale home is Air Force Global Strike Command ( AFGSC ), and the "Mighty Eighth " Air Force, of World War II fame. 2nd Medical Group Outpatient Clinic The Medical Clinic provides medical services for the Personal Reliability Program (PRP), Arming Use of Force (AUOF), Flight Medicine, Deployment Health, and Base Operational Medicine. The clinic is an outpatient mental health clinic within the military setting primarily providing therapy services. While they do some special duty evaluations, the primary focus is on traditional mental health therapy.

Duties

• Practice within the guidelines of their state licensing board, American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.
• Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources, as appropriate.
• Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders.
• Provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups; help medical and surgical patients deal with illnesses or injuries.
• Assist in rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• Graduate from an American Psychology Association (APA) accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
• Successful completion from an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).
• BLS - American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers or American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course. Certification cards must display the American Heart Association or Military Training Network emblem.
• As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands.

Shift: Clinic hours are 6:00am-6:00pm M-F, excluding federal holidays and down days Term: 12 months with options
