Entry Level Reality Capture Data Processing Technician – Onsite (Houston, TX) Intertek is actively seeking an Entry Level Reality Capture Data Processing Technician to join our Survey Services team in Houston. The role involves processing and registering laser scan data, supporting mobile mapping and SLAM datasets, and ensuring high-quality deliverables. Shift / Schedule 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Houston local time. Responsibilities Assist with processing and registration of terrestrial laser scanning datasets using software platforms such as Leica Cyclone, Register 360, NavVis IVION, Faro Scene, Autodesk Recap, and CloudCompare. Support the processing and organization of mobile mapping and SLAM datasets for industrial facilities and operational environments. Assist senior processors with registration verification and quality control checks. Help organize and maintain project data structures and electronic filing systems in accordance with company procedures. Support the generation of deliverables, including: Preparation of registered point cloud datasets in formats such as E57, RCP/RCS, LGS, POD, PTX, LAS, ZFS/ZFPRJ, and FLS. Compilation of registration reports and quality control documentation. Panoramic imagery exports and scan visualizations. Faro Scene and Leica Register 360 project deliverables. Preparation of deliverables compatible with industrial point cloud software platforms such as Aveva LFM/PCM. Client‑ready project data packages in accordance with company and client standards. Coordinate with field personnel and processing teams to resolve missing data or project‑related issues. Maintain accurate records of project progress and processing status. Support project schedules and ensure deliverables are issued within required timeframes. Ensure all work complies with Intertek quality standards, client procedures, and applicable industry standards. Participate in internal training and continuous improvement initiatives related to data processing. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, GIS, engineering technology, or related field preferred. Basic understanding of surveying, mapping, drafting, or geospatial principles. Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new software platforms. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work within a team‑oriented environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Adherence to Intertek’s 10X Energies and safety practices. Ability to work in fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines. Detail‑oriented with efficient time management. Customer‑focused and quality‑driven. Travel as business needs dictate. Preferred Requirements & Qualifications Exposure to laser scanning, CAD, GIS, or 3D modelling software through school, internships, or previous employment. Familiarity with one or more of the following software platforms is considered an advantage: Leica Cyclone Leica Register 360 NavVis IVION Autodesk Recap CloudCompare AutoCAD Faro Scene Z&F Laser Control Aveva Point Cloud Manager (PCM) Internship or co‑op experience within surveying, engineering, construction, or industrial environments.
