Field Foreman

Major Duties (Include for installation, maintenance, repair of water distribution system and location of underground water infrastructure) Manages, coordinates and develops work plans and schedules for installation, maintenance and repair of the water distribution system and utility locating. Supervises and participates in infrastructure maintenance operations. Train, supervise and evaluate personnel; select new employees; approve leave requests; counsel and discipline employees. Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures. Coordinate with Customer Service personnel for effective workflow. Prepare operational activity reports. Inspect jobsites prior to, during and upon completion of projects. Prepare specifications and repair cost estimates for larger distribution system and reservoir repairs or revisions. Coordinate and perform utility locating activities to protect water system infrastructure and ensure compliance with state damage‑prevention laws. Initiate, manage, and close locate requests by submitting tickets through the One‑Call/811 system for departmental work, emergency repairs, and planned construction activities. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education. Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives in the department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three to five years of related experience. Completion of approved Water Utility Inspector training. Completion of approved National Safety Council traffic control course as well as work zone course. Possession of an appropriate state‑certified water distribution operator’s certification. Possession of a valid ClassB commercial driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia. Possession of backflow tester certification. Possession of ability to readily obtain GSWCC Level1B Advanced Fundamentals certification – Red Card. Starting Salary – $52,954.36 #J-18808-Ljbffr
